Dr. Nihar Ranjan Roy

Dr. Nihar Ranjan Roy -heads the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at School of Engineering and Technology, VIPS-Technical Campus. Dr. Roy has over 21 years of dedicated teaching experience, including 13 years at universities like Sharda University, GD Goenka University, and Galgotias University.
Dr. Roy holds a Doctorate and an M.Tech in Information Technology from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela (formerly Utkal University, Orissa). His extensive research contributions focus on Computer Networks, Cyber Security and Forensics, and Machine Learning. He has authored and co-authored numerous research papers in esteemed journals and international conferences and is an active reviewer for SCI-indexed journals from IEEE, Wiley, Elsevier, and Springer. His research achievements include 3 published patents and 1 granted patent, alongside 3 edited books. Dr. Roy is currently supervising 3 Ph.D. scholars in broad areas like Light Weight Cryptography, Machine Learning, and IoT.
A recognized leader in his field, Dr. Roy has organized and technically led several international conferences co-sponsored by Springer and IEEE, to name a few are ReDCySec, REDSET, and IC3TSN. He has also facilitated numerous faculty development programs with a focus on Cyber Security and Digital Forensics. As an IBM-certified instructor, he has taught a wide array of courses, including Open Source Software, Web Programming, Data Mining, Big Data, and Cloud Computing. Dr. Roy has delivered over 30 expert talks across various colleges and universities, both in India and internationally.
Dr. Roy is a senior member of IEEE and a Lifetime member of the Cryptological Research Society of India. His exemplary contributions to education and research have been recognized with several awards, including the Best Teacher Award, Best Researcher Award, Best Teaching Website Design Award, and Best Personality Award.
