The CLAT exam is held once a year, usually in the month of December.
The CLAT UG exam tests five key areas, all based on a comprehension-based approach. The questions are designed to test your reading, comprehension, and analytical skills rather than rote memorization.
This section assesses your comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar. You will be given passages from which questions will be derived.
This section focuses on a wide range of topics, from historical events to contemporary legal developments, national and international affairs.
This section contains short passages followed by questions that test your ability to identify arguments, draw conclusions, and recognize logical fallacies.
You will be provided with passages on legal principles, facts, and scenarios. The questions will test your ability to apply these principles to given situations. No prior legal knowledge is required.
This section includes short sets of facts, graphs, or charts followed by questions. It tests your ability to interpret data and apply basic mathematical concepts (up to 10th standard).
The exam is 2 hours long
120 multiple-choice questions.
Each correct answer gets +1 mark, and each incorrect answer results in a deduction of 0.25 marks.
Your CLAT score determines your All India Rank (AIR), which is the most critical factor for admission. The higher your rank, the better your chances of getting into a top National Law University (NLU). Admission is conducted through a centralized counseling process, where candidates are allotted seats based on their rank and college preferences.
The BA LLB is a five-year integrated undergraduate program that combines a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. It offers a comprehensive blend of liberal arts subjects (like Sociology, Economics, and Political Science) and core legal subjects. This integrated approach ensures that graduates have a well-rounded personality with strong communication, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of the law.
